Welcome to my world. So happy that you found me. I create coastal artwork, mostly from wood, painting and epoxy resin. I love what I do, and I would like to create something special for you. I am back in the Studio, ready to go, so bring on the orders!

Below is a bunch of information that most people will not care a bit about. I had to write a bio for an art show that I was in, so here it is....
Janet's current creative endeavors consist of mixed media, mosaic, painting and illustration. She is currently working from her home studio in Aransas Pass, Texas. There she creates Lazy Susan's from wood, mosaic wall plaques and whimsical drawings and paintings.

Always being a creative type, her art has evolved organically throughout the years, shifting with the changes of life, travel, motherhood and career.

In the 1970's she worked in the Printing and Graphic Art's industry in Austin. There she had the opportunity to work part time with the print shop that produced the live music posters of the day. This was a big part of her early inspiration. During this time, she started taking classes in graphic arts.

In the early 1990's she began her mosaic career with a bunch of old tiles and a cracked slab that needed… something. Two years and many cut feet later, the project of a lifetime was finished. She was sure Home and Garden TV would come calling, but they never found her. Since then, she has refined her mosaic skills and learned to use a wet saw.

In the late 1990's she began a new career, training to be a trim carpenter. This opened up a world of opportunities and ideas, the best thing being the use and respect for power tools. Combining wood, tile and decorative painting has kept her imagination going many miles per hour for a long time.

Inspiration comes from so many places. From the rugged craftsmanship of hand carved and painted signs in Mexico, to mosaic tiled store fronts, to American and Mexican folk art. She finds beauty in the making and the makers. She believes that we were all born to create! (And she likes to say, "You can't buy that at Walmart!""

Locally, you can find her mosaic wall plaques hanging on the outside of several homes here in Port Aransas. Her wooden Lazy Susan's are displayed at The Port Aransas Art Center, The Rockport Center for the Arts and at Texas by Design in Rockport, Texas.


A large percentage of my work is made to order. The listing photo's that are displayed in my Etsy shop are samples of my work. Many have been sold. I will re-create another original that looks almost, just like the picture. It will most likely be a little nicer. The more I make, the better I get.

There are many steps involved in creating the items that I make. From the cutting of the wood, to the sanding and priming, to the painting, and finally the epoxy. Each step is a different job. Lazy Susan Centerpieces are my best sellers right now. They are fun and functional art, and can be used as wedding gifts, centerpieces, house warming presents, Christmas gift originals or a nice addition to your family table!

I hope you enjoy my work. Custom orders are always welcome, no matter how strange you might think they sound. I welcome a good challenge! If you have gotten this far, there is one more thing on my mind. I put my heart, soul and usually a little DNA into every piece that I send out. I honestly want you to be very happy with my work.
