Announcement    Welcome to Happy Home Design Art. I am so happy that you stopped by. My name is Janet DIneen. My home art studio is located in Aransas Pass, Texas, a town that is close to Port Aransas, Rockport and Corpus Christi, Texas. My home studio is where I create all of the artwork that I have for sale in the shop. I hope you enjoy!

From the cutting of the wood, to the final finish, the work is made by hand. My husband Mike has joined me in the business. He is now the main carpenter, cutter and sander of the wood. This has helped tremendously!

I have been an artist ever since I can remember, and creating is what I love. I also love working with wood, so being able to combine my two passions to make something beautiful is a dream come true!

If you would like to see me in action, we added an amateur video, filmed by my husband Mike. It is of me popping the bubbles on the epoxy finish with the torch. I have also been featured on Texas Country Reporter. You can see the episode if you go to YouTube and search Lazy Susans. I'd share, but I can't figure out how. There are also several photo's of the process that goes into my work. You can see these images on the "About" page below.

The "About" page also has different brick and mortar places that carry my work.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions, or would like me to create something special for you. I enjoy working with new ideas.
Many times my new product ideas are suggestions from people just like you! Give me a shout, drop me a line. I would love to hear your thoughts!

Thank you for visiting!

When not creating in the studio, I pick up trash while walking Auggie. I wish it weren't so. I wish peoples give a darn worked.

  • Mike Maurer My wonderful Husband

    Wood Cutter And Sander, Assistant

My husband finally gave in to the fact that I was not going to give up the desire to have Etsy work for me/us. Since he has started helping me, our sales have gained so much momentum. I hope it keeps up. He is the best, plus he cuts the wood better.

Frequently asked questions

Sizing details

Yes, I can cut the Lazy Susan's smaller or larger. I don't like to go over 20" when using the 2 part epoxy. This is due to the size restraints of my work area and shipping limitations.

Custom and personalized orders

Yes, custom orders are my specialty. It helps to be able to communicate with you about your custom order. The more ways, the better. For instance, if I am in the middle of painting a custom color, and I think something looks nice that we have not discussed, I would like to send you a quick picture so you can agree or disagree. I have learned that little questions come up all the time, and it puts my mind at ease to know we are all on the same page. Custom writing on a large piece is not my specialty. I have tried it in the past, and I was not happy with the results. I am more than willing to write something on the back.
I care very much about your satisfaction with my work. Communication is key!!

Sizing details

I am willing to talk to you about different sizes. I try not to go over 20 inches with the Lazy Susan's that I coat with epoxy. The Stingrays are larger. The epoxy is very tricky to work with, and the larger the area, the more room for defects. I do my best, and work very hard to get a nice finish.

Gift wrapping and packaging

I ship my Lazy Susan's in Pizza Boxes, new and unused. I purchase them from a food supply house. They are usually white.

If the piece will not fit in a pizza box, I will improvise as best as I can.

I am happy to include a hand made, custom gift or note card inside the package. Please let me know what you wish it to say.

If you have any questions, please let me know. I’m happy to consider all suggestions.

Many Thanks, We appreciate all of you.
Janet and Mike
